The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia has revealed that the party’s governorship candidate would emerge through the decision of the party.

This is contained in a communiqué issued by the party after a meeting between Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and the state working committee of the party on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.

The communique was signed by the state Chairman of the party, Chief Asiforo Okere, and the state Secretary of the party, Mr David Iron.

It commended the governor for his resolve to ensure that the party governorship candidate for 2023 election emerged through the party’s decision.

The document expressed the satisfaction of the party leadership over the fact that the leadership of the party at the state, local and ward levels would actively participate in charting the direction for producing the state’s governorship flag bearer.

“We shall mobilise all party resources to work for the success of our candidates in the general elections in 2023.

“We shall work in harmony for the overall success of the party,” it stated. (NAN)
