Super Eagles star, Justice Christopher, dies suddenly

Former Nigerian international and a member of the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup squad, Justice Christopher has died at the age of 40.

Confirming Christopher’s death, Nigerian football journalist Andrew Randa in a tweet said the football star died in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a hotel in Jos.

Christopher died this Wednesday morning, March 9, 2022, after reportedly slumping in his hotel in Jos, Plateau State.

The late Christopher began his senior career at Katsina United in 1999. Following spells at Sharks and Bendel Insurance, he moved to Belgium in 2001 when he signed for Royal Antwerp.

He also played for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria, Swedish club Trelleborgs FF, Alania Vladikavkaz in Russia and Herfølge BK in Denmark.

He made his debut in 2001 and was a member of the Adegboye Onigbinde led Super Eagles team to the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea Japan.

After the end of the season 2006/2007, the midfielder announced his retirement of football.

On 21 October 2012 announced his comeback and signed for Nasarawa United.
