Robbers attacking UI students and neighbours arrested by Police, guns recovered

The police in Oyo State have arrested armed robbers terrorising Agbowo area of Ibadan, the host community of the University of Ibadan (UI).

City & Crime reports that a motorcyclist and one other resident of Agbowo were recently shot dead while many students were injured in one of the house-to-house raids by the robbers.

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Mrs Ngozi Onadeko, said guns and cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

She said the suspects, Hammed Babatunde popularly called First Born, Abideen Olaide alias Oloko and Oladele Segun, attacked one Elupawoda Mayowa at Agbowo area, Ibadan, fired shots at him and dispossessed him of some amount of money, cell phones and other valuables.
