Singing for native doctor: Gozie Okeke blasts critics
Nigerian gospel singer, Gozie Okeke has opened up and responded to the critics over the viral video of him singing at an event which was attended by a popular Anambra native doctor, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki na Oba.
Recall that the singer was spotted in a viral video, singing as the native doctor sprayed him money. Many Nigerians and gospel musicians reacted to the video, condemning his actions.
However, according to the gospel singer in a video, he explained that he and other musicians were invited to the event to perform.
“Last two weeks I was in a programme at Oba, I was invited to the programme. We were many, because they set a very big sound and a stage. When you sing, you leave the stage for another.
“It was my turn to do my own, I was doing it. Luckily for me, a man approached me, even Odumeje was coming in. The man came straight to me and started spraying me money, he came with a huge amount of money and was spraying me.
“My duty is to appreciate him, because he showed me love. I don’t see anything bad in doing it but some people took it serious and personally as if I did something bad because he is a native doctor.
“Even some of my fellow gospel musicians were busy criticising me as if they were the one, if you were the one when Akwa comes to you and spray you money , you will shout ‘Holy ghost fire, I rebuke you, I reject you.’
Okeke further advised his critics to stop being judgmental as they might find the native doctor in heaven and end up in hell for not minding their business.
“Don’t be surprised on the last day, you will see him in heaven and you will be rotting in hell fire because you don’t mind your business.
“Please learn how to mind your business,” he said. (Daily Independent)
