She revealed this during an interview with on Channels TV, stating that some certain people didn’t want her to continue her position because of her relationship with the former president and his wife.

She said, “I could not continue because somebody did not want me there. I heard stories that I sang ‘Run, Goodluck Run’ and ‘Mama Peace’ for Jonathan and his wife, respectively. I sang both songs while I was in office at my own expense. I wrote the song, Mama Peace, for a woman I admire.

“I have no apology concerning both songs because she is indeed Mama peace. I am a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Some people urged the new stakeholders to retain me in the position due to my performance, but I did not struggle with fate.”

According to the singer, her performance as the Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development outperformed previous Directors-General.

“I would like to thank ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan (popularly known as Mama Peace), for allowing me to lead at the National Centre for Women Development.

“My team and I turned the place around for the better, and money started coming into the organization. I outperformed previous Directors-General at the agency.” (Daily Independent)
