Rep Dachung Bagos from PDP-Plateau State has advised the Federal Government to develop a practical and lasting solution to ending the lingering insecurity challenges facing the country.

Bagos, representing Jos South and Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, gave the advice in an interview on Wednesday in Jos.

The lawmaker, who decried the rate of kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, activities of insurgents, cultist activities, among others, called on the security agencies to device new strategies towards ending the menace.

“It is not longer news that the rate of insecurity in our nation is alarming; kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, and all of that, are on the rise. Government must take more proactive steps, practical solutions in securing the lives and property of its citizens.

“Our security agencies must adopt new and better strategies, including using modern technologies to bring these security challenges to an end,” he advised.

Bagos promised to legislate and make laws that would promote the safety of his constituents and indeed Nigerians in general.

He also promised to initiate programmes that would have direct impact on the people, and promised to make their interest his top priority.

“In spite of the current challenges, I wish to urge our people to stay put, be peaceful and prayerful at all times. On our part, we will do as much as possible to support the people in order to cushion their current hardship,’’ he said

Bagos, however, advised the people to continue to pray for the growth and development of Nigeria.
