Osun 2022: Crack in PDP as Senator Adeleke’s brother obtains nomination form
The crisis rocking the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has gotten messier as younger brother to the candidate of the party in the 2018 governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Deji, obtained nomination form.
This has put paid to the insinuation that Senator Adeleke would emerge as soul candidate of the party in the coming governorship election.
Some party leaders have been fingered in the decision of Dele to contest with his brother in the primary election.
The purported party leaders were said to gave picked interest in Dele since 2018 when he represented his brother at the INEC office during the collation of election results.
It was also gathered that Dele is having the backings of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to contest the primary if his elder brother refuses to step down for him.
The co-contestant of Senator Adeleke in the 2018 primary election, Akin Ogunbiyi, was also said to have obtained the nomination form to contest the primary again.
It was gathered that the former Secretary to the state government under Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Fatai Akinbade, has obtained form under the PDP.
Sources informed Saturday Sun that Dotun Babayemi and Sanya Omirin have obtained nomination form, making six persons that have signified intention to contest the primary election of the PDP. (Courtesy Saturday Sun)
