Kano Anti Corruption Commission on Thursday night took into custody Mr. Bello Alkarya, Director of Quality Assurance, Kano Consumer Protection Council for alleged bribery.
Bello Alkarya, popularly known as “Nigeria” is a senior staff of General Idris Bello Dambazau. Kano Consumer Protection Council was quizzed last week by the DSS for economic sabotage.
Chairman, Kano Anti Corruption Agency of the Commission, Barrister Mahmud Balarabe told Reportersin Kano on Friday that Bello Alkarya was allegedly arrested “red-handed in the act”.
Barrister Mahmud Balarabe said “we have an officer of the State Consumer Protection Council in our custody. He was arrested red-handed why committing the crime, and we are investigating the matter.”
INDEPENDENT learnt that Consumer Protection Council’s credibility hit all time low following the deployment of its former boss, Bappa Baba Dan’Agundi as seizures of illicit drugs and food products had seized.
During the reigns of KAROTA Boss at the Council, Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi as the acting Chairman of the Protection Council over N15 Billion illicit drugs and other Contrabands were seized and destroyed.
In the last few months, another Director of the Council was arrested by the Anti-corruption Agency for bribery. (Daily Independent)
