Zamfara’s emirate strikes deal with terrorists leader, Ali Kachalla
The Wazirin Dansadau, Alhaji Mustapha Umar, has said peace is gradually returning to Dansadau Emirate after a peace pact with the terror kingpin, Ali Kachalla.
In recent times, communities in Dansadau Emirate have witnessed a sharp spike in attacks and waves of kidnapping largely perpetrated by Kachalla and one Damina who was recently killed in a gang fight.
Umar said Kachalla had agreed to cease hostilities in the communities and that had eventually paved the way for farmers to harvest their farm produce and for travellers to ply the dreaded Gusau-Magami-Dansadau Road.
“This is a clear departure from what was obtainable in the past.
“We have also warned our people to shun anything capable of derailing the peace process. We have suffered enough as a people. We are calling all the youth to give peace a chance so that the process will be sustained for the benefit of all,” he said.
Umar explained that they had informed the state government about the process and called on authorities to organise a tour to the emirate to see things for themselves and plan on how to provide social amenities to the communities.
He taunted individuals claiming to be from Dansadau region but hiding in Kaduna and Abuja telling people about the situations in the emirate, which he said, “They obviously do not know anything about.”
The Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, DIG Ibrahim Mamman Tsafe (rtd), confirmed that relative peace was returning to Dansadau, adding that there had not been any heinous act committed by the bandits on the axis.
He said the state government was taking steps to address the challenge, adding that the measures adopted by authorities in the state were paying because the criminals had been pushed to the brink of submission.
