NRC announces resumption of train services as workers end strike

The management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), on Sunday, announced the resumption of train services following the calling off of the strike action embarked on by the National Union of Railway Workers (NURW).

In a statement signed by Yakubu Mahmood, a Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer of NRC, the management said the train services resumed last Saturday after necessary safety precautions.

NRC maintained that train arrivals and departures remain according to the current train timetable scheduled before the strike, stressing that its portal is now fully operational for the passengers wishing to book tickets online.

“The management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) wishes to inform the general public especially our valued passengers, that train services resumed last Saturday after necessary safety precaution

“Meanwhile, all our train arrivals and departures remain according to the current train timetable scheduled before the strike, our portal is now fully operational for the passengers wishing to book tickets online.

“The Management regrets any inconveniences this strike may have caused our valued passengers,” the statement said.
