Hundreds of affected residents of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, staged a peaceful protest against the Department of State Security (DSS) Community Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited over non-allocation of landed property, which they paid for more than two years ago.

The protesters blocked the entrance of the DSS office at Aleshinloye with their vehicles.

They claimed more than hundreds of them paid between N3.65million and N6million for the landed property at the DSS Housing Estate, Elenusonso, Ile-Tuntun, Ibadan but nothing was done.

They said the management of the DSS told them that the allocation of the land would be done two weeks after payment but has not been done two years after.

The vice-chairperson, DSS Land Subscribers, Ile-Tuntun, Ibadan, Mrs Adebola Ibitoye, said more than 100 non-members of the cooperative obtained the forms and paid more than N500million about two years ago.

The protesters were received at the governor’s office by the executive assistant on security matters to the governor, Mr Sunday Odukoya.

After a meeting at the DSS Office, Ibitoye briefed journalists that their representatives met with the DSS deputy director of administration, who promised to look into the matter.
