Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the executive order giving legal backing to the panel of inquiry set up to probe the collapsed Ikoyi building.

The panel members were sworn in at the Five Cowries Boat Terminal of the Lagos State Water Authority (LASWA) on Falomo Road, Ikoyi.

The oath was administered by a Director in the Ministry of Justice, Mrs Abiola Adeyinka.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated that government is determined to unravel the intricacies surrounding the tragedy, and
urged the panel to work so that the hope and trust of residents can be restored.

Chairman of the panel, Toyin Ayinde, noted the exercise can only be different if everyone agrees to place value on human life.

“Time is now to hold the belief by the Governor and let justice prevail,” he added. (The Nation)
