Court remands 5 friends for allegedly killing commercial sex worker

An Ilorin Magistrate’ Court on Monday ordered that five friends be remanded in Police custody for allegedly killing a commercial sex worker in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara.

The police charged Samuel Tsado, Mohammed Gbara, Mohammed Abubakar, Mohammed Ahmadu and Bala Katun with criminal conspiracy, buying, selling or trafficking in human parts, possession of human parts and culpable homicide.

Magistrate Wahab Saka, who gave the order adjourned the matter until Sept. 30 for further mention.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Isaac Yakub, told the court that on June 29, Tsado went to Victory Hotel and requested for the services of the victim, Abigail Polumuga and since then, her whereabout is unknown.

He said that Tsado, later confessed that it was his friends who arranged the pick up, beheaded her and used her for money ritual purposes.

The prosecution said that Tsado’s confession led to the arrest of four suspects while two others are now at large.

He prayed the court to remand the defendants pending the completion of investigation.

The offence, he said, contravened Section 9,1,3,2 and 11 of Kwara Prohibition Law 2018 and sections 97 and 221 of Penal Code Law. (NAN)
