Kidnapped Niger traditional ruler regains freedom

The District Head of Wawa in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, Mahmud Aliyu, has regained freedom.

The District head was abducted on September 9, at his palace in Wawa, Borgu Emirate.

A terse statement by Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Abubakar Sani-Bello on Saturday, said “he was released without payment of ransom.”

She did not state when are where he was set free by the kidnappers.
