UniJos gets scary letter from Boko Haram, threatens to abduct students

The student community from the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has been greeted with an unknown and unverified letter allegedly said to be from Boko Haram terrorists.
The letter which was written in Hausa warned that the group was planning to attack the Unijos student’s community and kidnap as many persons as possible.

For some time now we have decided to be silent but now we are coming to attack the University as our first attack on Jos this coming Monday and if we come, we will take all students we find hostage.

We are already in Jos and our intention is to kidnap as many students as possible from their hostels in the University and we will cause grief to many families.

As from today Saturday in the night, you will start experiencing things.

The letter was likely written before the recent attacks on UNIJOS and environs but apparently not taken serious by the authorities, whom later shut down the institution as several state governments moved to evacuate their citizens attending the school. (Mathewtegha)
