MASSOB celebrates Uwazuruike as a hero for sustaining Biafra struggle through non-violence process

The President of Biafra Internal Government (BIG), Chief Amadi Ifeanyi has praised the founder and leader of the Biafra Independence Movement, (BIM) and Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike’ for championing Biafra’s Independence struggle through non-violence ways.

Ifeanyi said Uwazuruike has championed the affairs of the Igbo resistant movement for the past 22 years through non – violent methods without changing tactics.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Elder Chris Mocha to mark the 22nd year anniversary of MASSOB, Ifeanyi celebrated Uwazuruike’s efforts, describing him as a hero of new Biafra and recalled how Uwazuruike assured South East legislators in the year 2001 that MASSOB adopted non-violence to guide its struggle in order to avoid jeopardizing the huge investments of Ndigbo outside Igbo land and to avoid loss of lives.

He said Uwazuruike has pursued Biafra’s Independence by remaining resolute consistent and focused for 22 solid years, a legacy he said was the best sacrifice Uwazuruike offered the people of South East and South-South geo-political zones of the country.

He recalled that MASSOB was founded by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike on September 13, 1999, to pursue the realization of a state of Biafra through peaceful means.

It will be recalled that on January 1, 2020, Uwazuruike inaugurated a parliamentary system as its form of government and headed by the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, Chief Justice and Ministers.

The Biafra Internal Government he said has been test-running inside BIM-MASSOB as a prelude to achieving the much-awaited Biafra sovereignty.

He expressed satisfaction to all the loyalists of Uwazuruike for keeping hope alive in struggle, stressing that Non- Violence remains the only cardinal principle and panacea for the achievement of the Biafra”s Self-determination and enjoined other pro-Biafra groups as a matter of principle and because of enemies within to emulate BIM-MASSOB.

He appealed to the Unrepresented Nations and People’s Organizations, (UNPO) to pressurize the world body and other Western Nations to accord sovereign status to Biafra.

In his appeal to the 76th Session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) due to open on September 14, 2021, in New York, United States Ifeanyi said that “according to sovereign state of Biafra recognition would stop the frequent waste of human lives in Nigeria and end the marginalization of the people of the former Eastern region”
