A policeman has been killed while a senior customs officer has been abducted in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the residence of the customs officer identified as Abbas Bello around 2am on Thursday.
They were said to have engaged policemen in a gun duel, which led to the death of a sergeant.
A police inspector was also said to have sustained injury. The officer killed was identified as Sergeant Ogedi Habu while the one who was injured was identified as inspector Ibrahim Joseph.
Police spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the incident, saying the state police Commissioner, Abimbola Sokoya, had visited the family of the abducted custom officer.
