The Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier Gen. Sha’ibu Ibrahim, has refuted news on social media that NYSC members deployed to Kaduna State were killed by bandits in a single day.

Speaking after the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremony of 1,332 members of 2021 batch ‘B’ (stream 1) deployed to Kaduna State, Ibrahim urged the public to disregard fake news capable of setting the country ablaze.

“The social media was awash with fake news that all corps members deployed to Kaduna were slaughtered on their way. People engaging in this nonsense should stop it. This is not true.”

While urging all and sundry to instill the spirit of patriotism in the youths, he added: “No country is without its challenge. Let us come together, reason together to see how we can overcome our challenges because this is our country.”
