A copy of the statements made available to journalists reads:
Good evening colleagues.
It is imperative that I address the platform, even though I have addressed those on duty when I came to the station and I’m still in contact with some till now.
The first call I got was at 12:59pm and since then I got so much calls that my phone battery ran out.
I immediately called DSS, NSCDC, Soludero etc
Preliminary investigation by Security Agents have it that, sometimes during the week, an AK-47 was recovered by Soludero outfit from some Robbers and handed over to police.
Further investigation led them to the hideout of the criminals which led to shootout with the hoodlums. Learned that one of the hoodlums died.
The hoodlums now planned a reprisal on targeted facilities.
The cutlass, matchets etc used were seized from the shops around the premises of Amuludun.
Thereafter, they went to Akinyele Local Government secretariat and Tipper Garage.
At Amuludun FM, 4cars had their wind shield, side glasses, number plates etc destroyed. Its in millions. Security post glasses, reception and Engineering front glasses were also damaged.
The premises has been secured by the presence of Operation Burst, DSS, NSCDC and the NPF.
In case you sight any strange movement you may CALL 615 for prompt response. But I can assure you that we’re within the watchful eyes of security.
More investigations and report are ongoing. We have the highest regards of the ZD and subsequently the DG.
I want to appreciate everyone who has called and prayed.
