The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) said Thursday that it has reached over 60 million total number of unique NIN records in the National Identity Database (NIDB).

The commission said it achieved the feat because of its commitment to scaling up NIN issuance nationwide.

The 60 million new record of NIN database is also a result of speeding up authentication and improved service delivery, in line with transformational value of a robust and inclusive foundational ID system.

Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, said in a press statement: “This feat couldn’t have been possible without the cooperation of all stakeholders including the general public.”

Urging those yet to be enrolled to go for their NIN verification and authentification, Adegoke, said the commission was committed to keeping this momentum of scaling up services for better identification and authentication.
