The excesses of Pretty Okafor, President of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, who has been parading himself as the president and founder of Creative Industry Group, CIG, seems to have finally been nipped in the bud as the Federal Ministry Of Industry, Trade & Investment has confirmed that the group was registered by veteran musician, Ambassador Felix Duke, the true President of the group.

According to a letter from the Federal Ministry Of Industry, Trade & Investment, dated July 24, 2020 and made available to DAILY INDEPENDENT, the trademark registration Pretty Okafor has allegedly been using to defraud people, claiming he is the founder and President of the Creative Industry Group actually belongs to one Waya Multi Link Technology Limited, with application number NG/T/2020/402, located at 4b, Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

See the letter below:

Speaking on the development which obviously excites him, Founder and President of the Creative Industry Group, CIG, Ambassador Felix Duke revealed that the group would be taking legal actions against Pretty Okafor for exploiting the group’s identity to perpetrate fraud.

He said; “Pretty Okafor has been a pain in the neck in the creative industry. He has been a big problem, he’s not doing anything as PMAN President, all he keeps saying is “I want to do this, I want to do that” but eventually does nothing. He’s been fighting in PMAN, nothing he has achieved than fighting everybody. He has been PMAN President for eight years now, he has not achieved anything and he was supposed to be there for two years.”

“Anytime his tenure expires he goes to court, brings up a problem then go to court and get judgement. That’s what he’s been using to stay in power. He has not been able to do anything in power, PMAN and now he has jumped to Creative Industry Group saying that he created the organization and he registered it, he trademarked it.”
