A suspected armed robber was yesterday burnt to death by an angry mob in Afiesere Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Daily Independent gathered that the incident which occurred at about 4:00 pm drew the attention of a mammoth crowd.
It was gathered through eye witness report that the victim was snatched a newly purchased motorcycle from its at Iwhrekpokpor roundabout, Afiesere.
It was learnt that the owner of the stolen motorcycle raised an alarm which attracted other motorcyclists who gave the victim a hot chase.
It was further revealed that the victim was lynched by the angry mob after he drove into an Afiesere Secondary School.
It was learnt that the angry mob meat the victim to a pulp before setting him ablaze.
When contacted Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident.
“We do not encourage any form of jungle justice,” he said. (Daily Independent)
