Newly appointed Director of Radio Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has vowed “to serve with everything in me.”

“I will double my effort in media, diplomacy, and otherwise to the best interest of Biafra people,” Ekpa, whose appointment follows the arrest and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the radio station’s proprietor, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), further said on his Facebook page, describing his appointment as an honour to serve “the Biafra nation and lovers of freedom.”

“Our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi on this day, 8th of July 2021 directed that I, Simon Ekpa should start broadcasting from Radio Biafra with immediate effect,” said Simon Ekpa, a Finnish citizen and politician who was recently elected deputy councillor of his municipality.

A native of Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Ekpa has royal blood running in him and holds a Master’s degree in Law. He is a frontline human rights activist, legal researcher and advisor.
