Food poisoning: Last child of Zamfara 10-member family dies

The last child of a family of 10 children, where nine were wiped out by food poisoning earlier, has died at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital ten days after.
The 11-year-old child, identified as Sadiq, died after days of admission at the Specialist Hospital in Gusau, the state capital.
He was the 10th child to have died in the family after eating a poisonous meal.
The whole house has apparently become empty with only the biological parents of the children standing.
Our correspondent, who visited Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau last week, saw the only surviving child lying critically ill with doctors battling to fix a respirator on him to aid his breathing.
Ten days ago, tragedy struck Jangeme village in Gusau Local Government Area of the state when nine family members died of food poisoning. (Daily Trust)
