Gunmen kidnap eight ceramic workers in Kogi

Gunmen have kidnapped eight workers working with a ceramic company in the Ajaokuta local government Area of Kogi State.

It was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday in Emiworo.

It was learnt that the workers were abducted while loading stones which is expected to be delivered to the ceramic site located in Itobe.

The suspected criminals who were fully armed according to sources whisked away from their victims to an unknown destination.

One of the victims was identified as Hassan Shaibu.

Shaibu wife who spoke to our correspondent confirmed the kidnap of her husband.

She said, “Yes, my husband was among those ceramic workers kidnapped in Emiworo. We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, am confused and I don’t know where to go from here.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday evening.

Aya, however, said six mining workers of West African Ceramic were kidnapped.

According to him, the Police in collaboration with sister security agencies had combed the bushes to ensure that the abducted miners regained freedom from their abductors. (Courtesy, Nigerian Tribune)
