Chief Paul Odogwu popularly known as Oscar, has been elected the President of Balogun Business Association, Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

He was elected after a keenly contested election which was observed by relevant agencies, including the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Speaking before the election, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the association, Chief Okey Ezibe said that the election became pertinent following the careless and irresponsible leadership of the care taker committee, which was set up by the outgone president of the association, Chief Tony Obih.

According to him, according to the constitution of Balogun Business Association, a caretaker Committee has only two months to appoint a returning officer who would organize election and bring in a new executive.

However, he said that instead of the caretaker doing what the constitution said, they decided to stay put and be fretting the assets of the association away.

Ezibe said that the worst of the fretting of the association’s assets was the attempt by the caretaker committee to sell the parking lot of the complex.

According to him, trade and transportation go hand in hand, adding that whoever tries to deny the complex of parking lot does not have the interest of the association at heart.

Speaking after been sworn in, Chief Odogwu commended the members of the association for the trust they have shown on him by electing him to serve them.

According to him, a lot of things had gone wrong in the complex.

He promised to do his best by righting the wrongs.

He also appealed for the support and commitment of the members of the association, since he cannot do it alone.

Odogwu commended the members of the electoral committee for organizing a credible, free and fair election.
