Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Saturday joined the youths in a peaceful protest across the city of Ibadan, the state capital.
The youths in their hundreds gathered themselves to demand for a good governance started their peaceful protest from Mokola Under Bridge, with heavy presence of security operatives to make sure that the protests is not hijack by the hoodlums.
Governor Seyi Makinde joined the protesters at the Bodija Housing Junction at the front of Aare Afe Babalola Building.
The governor joined the protesters who were mostly youths to ensure that the protests were not hijacked by hoodlums and to also identify with them on their legitimate demands for good governance.
The protesters, who were majorly students of higher institutions of learning and members of the Omoyele Sowore led-#RevolutionNow staged a peaceful protest demanding good governance.
One of the #RevolutionNow leader, who craved anonymity and spoke to SATURDAY INDEPENDENT reporter who monitored the protests that started from Mokola Under Bridge, said the protesters were protesting against bad governance, stressing that a cup of Garri which is regarded as the food for the poor people is now N70.
As at the time of filing this report everything was going on well as most of the ever congested roads were free of traffic gridlock.
The protesters were so happy to have Governor Makinde in their midst and also promised to make sure that the protests end on a peaceful note. (Saturday Independent)
