No fewer than 3000 loyalists of All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on the Lagos community of Ojokoro on Thursday, in solidarity with the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the reelection bid of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of 2023.

The teeming crowd that gathered under the aegis of Carry Go Alliance, an APC support group led by Dr Oladipupo Okeyemi, also declared support for the chairmanship aspiration of Okeyomi in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

Speaking during the inaugural meeting of the Carry Go Alliance, Okeyomi said close to 10,000 residents of the area had signed up to back the aspirations of both Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.

“The sea of head gathered here today are here for a purpose; they want to tell the whole world that from the Lagos corner of Ojokoro, virtually every soul has declared for the presidential ambition of our leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, and our governor, Sanwo-Olu.

“While Tinubu laid a solid foundation for what has today become modern Lagos, Sanwo-Olu has also convinced all that he deserves another term, with physical achievements to parade,” he enthused.

Okeyomi added that the APC in Ojokoro was a united family, which had resolved to back him for chairman of the LCDA, in the coming local government election.

“At my recent declaration, you were all witnesses to how the monarch of Ojokoro, Oba Rilwan Taiwo, the Bales (native heads), Iyalajes (market women leaders), Babalajes (market men leaders) Igbo, Hausa, Ebira and other ethnic groups’ leaders, all came out to endorse my candidature,” he recalled.

On the occasion, a representative of over 2, 700 parents whose children benefitted from Okeyomi’s tution-free scholarships, Mrs Mutiat Hassan, said, “If Okeyomi whom we all know as Carry Go could use his hard-earned money to better the lives of our children, definitely, human empowerment will be his morning creed, if we vote for him.”  (THISDAY)
