Leke Adeboye and Adeolu Adeboye, surviving sons of General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, have shaved their hair and beards in honour of their late brother, Pastor Dare Adeboye.
The Nation reports Dare, 42, died in his sleep on Tuesday, May 4 in Eket, Akwa-Ibom where he was pastoring a church.
Leke Adeboye, in a video on Sunday, said: “This is our tradition, anytime we lose a fallen soldier as youths; we shave off our hair as a sign of respect and honour.
“To live is Christ and to die is gain. It is very simple. PD is already gone. How are you living right now? Heads shaved, clean hearts and clean minds.”
Leke Adeboye initiated the movement with the hash tag, #forPDee #NotTodaySatan
Meanwhile, the burial rites for late Pastor Dare Adeboye commenced on Sunday, May 9.
The Nation learnt many youths of the church have decided to honour the deceased.
Several male members of the church have gone bald and cut off their hair to show last respect for the deceased who has been widely described as a “soldier” for Christ. (Courtesy, The Nation)
