Gunmen kill 11 farmers in Nasarawa while asleep

Gunmen have killed eleven farmers in Ajimaka village, a Tiv settlement of Ekye Development Area in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The President of Tiv Development Association (TIDA), Peter Ahemba told Channels Television that the gunmen invaded the community in the early hours of Saturday when the villagers were deep asleep shooting sporadically, resulting in the killing of 11 persons and many others injured.
“Some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded Ajimaka community, as at the last count, eleven corpses have been recovered including women and children,” he said.
He added that no fewer than 10,000 farmers fled the area, taking refuge in Kadarko, Doma, Ekye, and Rukubi communities in the state.
The Nasarawa State Police Command is however yet to confirm the attack.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Rahman Nansel, said the command does not have details of the attack yet. ( Channels TV)
