Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has effected a minor cabinet reshuffle in his administration six months after he appointed the commissioners.

He carried out the cabinet reshuffle during the 22nd State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Wednesday.

Diri constituted his cabinet in August 2020 six months after his inauguration as governor of the state.

In the exercise, the Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Mr Federal Otokito, was redeployed to the Ministry of Trade and Investment while his counterpart in charge of that ministry, Mr Stanley Braboke, was moved to Labour and Employment.

The governor explained that the change was made in the interest of the state, urging the council members to always remember they were appointed to serve the people.

He said, “The Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment is, hereby, redeployed to the Ministry of Labour and Employment. In the same vein, the Honourable Commissioner for Labour and Employment is, hereby, redeployed to the Ministry of Trade and Investment.

“As I keep saying, we are to serve our people, and to serve our people we have to put in our best. I may not be with you in your ministries, but all of you relate to me and my deputy governor.

“Whatever that goes on in any of your ministries, we will be aware, and there is nothing that will go on in your ministry without any of us knowing.” (Daily Independent)
