Police Commander ACP Haruna Adamu gets award for leading anti-banditry fight in Niger State

An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Haruna Adamu, has been honoured for being in the forefront of the anti-banditry fight being prosecuted by the Police in Niger State.

He was named the ‘Best Area Commander of the Year’ by the Niger State Police Command. ACP Adamu, also received Commendation Award in recognition of his outstanding performance from the Commissioner of Police, Niger State, Mr Adamu Usman.

PRNigeria learnt that Adamu, has been leading other gallant officers and policemen, to battle bandits in the six Local Governments under his Command.

They have succeeded in restoring peace at Mariga, Magama, and Mashegu Local Governments, together with parts of Kontagora Local Government, while also putting efforts to tackle bandits in Rafi Local Government.

The hardworking Area Commander graduated from Bayero University, Kano (BUK) in 1992.

He joined the Police in 1996, as a product of the Police Academy in Kano. He had served with the Taraba, Nasarawa, Abia, Imo and Abia State Police Commands. He was once with the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID).

He was promoted to the rank of ACP last year and posted to the Kontagora Area Police Command as Commander. (PRNigeria)
