Two INEC Staff Missing As Commission Declares Zamfara Bye-election Inconclusive | Sahara Reporters

Two ad hoc workers have been declared missing, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday, declared the Bakura state assembly bye-election in Zamfara inconclusive over “gross irregularities.”

The Returning Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Magawata, who authenticated outcomes of some polling units, told newsmen that results from other wards had been cancelled due to “gross malpractice like ballot box snatching, over-voting and erupted violence.”

Consequently, returns from polling units, totaling 11,429 voters, were annulled.

The umpire is, however, yet to fix a date to conclude the exercise.  (The Guardian)
