Court grants bail to Kano man who kidnapped own daughter, demanded N2m ransom from wife

A magistrate court at Hajj Camp in Kano has granted bail to Fahad Ali accused of kidnapping his own 4-year-old daughter and demanded ransom from his wife, the biological mother of the child.
Ali who has since denied the offence when the charges were read against him was asked to provide two sureties in the persons of his village head and Chief Imam.
The presiding magistrate, Sakina Aminu then adjourned the matter to December 9th for continuation.
Daily Trust reports that one Shamsiyya Mohammed, mother of the child had reported to police that on 29 of September her daughter was kidnapped and being called on phone asking her to pay N2m for her freedom or she be killed.
After two weeks investigation, the police uncovered that it was her husband, Fahad Ali the father of the girl that was making such calls just as the kidnapped girl was found with him. (Daily Trust)
