The family of the 2011 Delta gubernatorial candidate of Citizens Popular Party (CPP), Chief Ogbe Onokpite, has vowed to ensure that justice prevails over the unjust killing of their son who was allegedly murdered by the police nine years ago.

The family members made the vow during a recent peaceful protest at the venue of the Judiciary Panel of Inquiry into police brutality and extra-judicial killings seating in Warri, Delta State.

While chatting with newsmen outside the venue, two relatives of the deceased, Mr. Victor Onokpite and Comrade Karo Erueme, said the family will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is served accordingly, adding that they are at the Judiciary Panel to push for justice to prevail.

They explained that the death of their brother still hurts them and greatly left a huge gap in the family and close associates he left behind.

Addressing journalists, the lawyer to the family, Barr Eriata Odiana, said they are expecting a positive ruling from the Judicial Panel, stressing that they are hoping the ruling of the police investigation into the killing of late Ogbe Onokpite will be upheld and the police officers involved will be duly served justice.

It would be recalled that late Chief Onokpite was murdered on November 26, 2011 at Udu in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State allegedly by five police operatives who have been indicted for the murder.
