A man, identified as Owolabi, and his son, Biodun, were on Sunday lynched by mob when the duo allegedly confessed that they were involved in the ritual killing of a 14-year-old boy, Kadiri, at Ajadi Area of General Gas, Akobo, Iyana Church Road, Ibadan, Oyo State,

The boy, who was said to have lived in the same community with the Owolabis, reportedly went out on Saturday with his friends in search of bricklaying job. It was further gathered that when his parents did not see him in the evening, they raised the alarm.

A search was launched for him before his dead body was discovered on Sunday and the youths in the community were said to have suspected the Owolabis, and they were said to have stormed their house and demanded to know what they allegedly did for Kadiri. Some residents of the community alleged that they saw Kadiri and Biodun together on Saturday.

After the confession, the mob reportedly got angry and beat the farther and son blue and black. The anger was said to have been upped when they sighted the lifeless body of Kadiri and they reportedly set the father ablaze and stabbed the son.

Kadiri’s corpse was said to have been retrieved from the bush and it was discovered that his right hand had been cut off by the suspected ritual killers, while heart was also said to have been removed.

The dead body of Kadiri, according to sources, was found by some young boys in the area that had turned a portion of the bush to marijuana smoking joint. Biodun, the source said further, was asked the whereabouts of Kadiri and he was said to have pointed to the bush where Kadiri was killed and that his father, Owolabi, instructed him to do so. As some youths were dealing with Biodun, another set went for Owolabi.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Olugbenga Fadeyi, could not be reached on his mobile phone on Sunday evening as he did not pick calls made to him for comment. (The Sun)
