Oyetola joins #EndSARS protesters in Osun

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday afternoon joined the EndSARS protesters in Osogbo, walked with them and addressed them.

The governor spent time with the protesters and assured them of the readiness of government to address the issues of police brutality, particularly by the SARS operatives.

Meanwhile, some Christian youths also lent their voice to the agitation, as they organised a procession in Osogbo and Ilesa, which they tagged “prayer walk”.

The participants in the prayer walk said they share the aspiration of EndSARS protesters and called on the Federal Government to accede to the demands of Nigerians youths for a better country.

The protesters under the auspices of Youth Wing of the Christian Associations of Nigeria (YOWICAN) demanded an end to police brutality and bad governance.

The Christian youths converged at Lameco junction in Osogbo and matched to Ring Road area before concluding the walk at Delẹ Yes-Sir area where they held series of prayers for God’s intervention in the affairs of the country.

In Ilesa, the Christian youths also walk round the ancient town and prayed for a better Nigeria.

Carrying placards bearing various inscriptions, the youths stormed the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran and a police station at Ayeso and demanded an end to police brutality.

The Vice President of YOWICAN, Fasooto Oludare Ibukun said the prayer walk was necessary because of the maladministration, insecurities, economic hardship and spilling of innocent blood in Nigeria.

He said, “The happenings in the Osun state and Nigeria call for a serious confrontation, deliberation and resolution on the way forward within all section of the administration across the country.” (Daily Trust)
