Man arrested for allegedly defiling seven year old girl in Anambra

A 33-year-old man, Ejike Kanu, was on Monday arrested by police operatives attached to Okpoko division of the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly luring and defiling a 7-year-old girl inside his wife’s shop.

The victim, an indigene of Elugwu Mkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, but residing at Umuobom Street, Okpoko in Anambra State, blamed the devil for the act.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, police detectives have visited the scene and taken the victim to the hospital for medical examination where penetration was confirmed by a medical doctor.

He said: “The suspect has voluntarily confessed, and attributed the act to devil’s influences.

“The case will be transferred to the state’s Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigations as directed by the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Abang, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.”
