Man remanded for allegedly killing three family members

A 24-year-old technician, Opeyemi Lukuman, has been remanded in Ilesha Correctional Centre for killing and dismembering three family members in Osun State.

Lukuman was arraigned on Tuesday for murder, among other charges, before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Okuku.

Prosecutor Tajudeen Mustapha said that on July 24, 2020, around 11pm, at Sekinat Area, Inisha, Lukuman killed Sarah, 57; a six-year-old girl, Favour Onifade; 15-year-old Toyin, and stabbed Tunde Oyeniran in seven places. All victims were said to be members of a family.

Lukuman also allegedly stabbed his customer, took away his bank debit card and withdrew N300,000 from his account.

Mustapha also told the court that the accused person attempted to escape from police custody by damaging his handcuffs and the detention cell gate.

Magistrate Busayo Adediwura adjourned the matter till September 21, 2020.  (The Nation)
