No missing Police Officer ni Enugu – CP

The Enugu State Police Commissioner, Ahmad Ab­dur Rahman, has debunked the report that nine of his officers were missing.

A statement made avail­able to journalists in Enu­gu on Sunday by the Police Public Relation Officer of the State Command, Daniel Ndukwe, the Commission­er described the report of missing police officers as false report being peddled by misguided and mischief makers.

“To this end, the pub­lic, particularly residents of the state, have been enjoined to totally disre­gard such falsehood being peddled by misguided and mischief makers in its en­tirety, as such incident did not happen anywhere in the state neither did the command confirm nor is­sue any statement in that regard.

“We thereby warn ped­dlers of such malicious, misleading and menda­cious information capable of causing tension and af­fecting the tranquility en­joyed in the state, to desist forthwith.”

He made it clear that per­petrators would be made to face the full weight of the law.

The CP further reas­sured of the command’s commitment to always provide adequate security for the protection of life and property as well as the maintenance of peace and order in the state.

He enjoined the citi­zens of the state to remain law-abiding, verify and be sure that any information shared on social media is genuine to avoid spreading falsehood.

He then called on resi­dents to promptly report any person(s) found and/ or known to be peddling such fake and malicious information to the nearest Police station. (Daily Independent)
