How I struggled to break into limelight — Frank Edoho, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ host

Popular TV host, film maker and photographer, Frank Edoho, is not happy with young Nigerians who are on the fast lane not wanting to learn the ropes.

The 47 years old  Animal Science graduate from the University of Calabar most known for hosting the show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,

says many youths of today think they can have instant success the moment they start practising their talent.

“The problem with you young people is you think immediately you start practicing your true talent, success should come,” said the father of four children (from two women) who grew up in Lagos State but originally hails from Eket in Akwa Ibom State.

According to Frank whose  monthly salary stands at 1 million naira and total earnings of N156 million for the 13 years he anchored the “Who wants to be a millionaire” show, success in his career did not come to him on a platter of gold, he paid his dues.

“I was a struggling broadcaster for 13 years before I caught a break. And I was reading, writing, watching, listening, studying from the greats in all that time,” he narrated recently.

Tracing his long road to limelight Frank said he started his career as a presenter on an entertainment show at the Cross River State Broadcasting Corporation.

He also anchored a Breakfast Television for three years at Nigerian television Authority (NTA) Channel 9, Calabar before being presenter at DBN in 1999 and later moved to Metro FM 97.6 in 2000 where he anchored radio shows such as A.M Lagos, Masculine Line and so on.

Apart from being a presenter, he is also a voice over artiste who has voiced tv ads and radio jingles for several companies such as Vogue Fruit Juice, First City Monument Bank, Unilever Nigeria Plc, Elizade Toyota and so on.
