Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has directed the management of Anambra State oxygen production plant to give medical oxygen to all General Hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centres in the state free of charge.

This is in line with the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic following the death and increasing case of COVID-19 in the state.

While a 66-year-old man recently died of the deadly pandemic, the state now has a record of 10 cases.

Announcing the development in Awka, the Managing Director of the plant, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, explained that the free supply of medical oxygen to the hospitals will last for two months starting from May 27, 2020.

He said: “The Governor has directed all General hospitals and Primary health care centres that need Medical Oxygen, to apply immediately through the office of the state Commissioner for Health for onward collection from the production plant at Amaku, Awka.”
