Curfew: Anambra police arrests 42 violators, impounds eight vehicles

Forty-two violators of the curfew imposed by the Federal Government have been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command. Eight vehicles were also impounded by the Command.

In a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, he said that the suspects were served with arraignment notice and granted bail.

He explained that suspects were arrested from different parts of the state.

The statement partly reads: “20 of the suspects were arrested in Onitsha,10 in Igboukwu and two in Nnewi while 7 were arrested in Awka and 3 in Ozubulu.”

Mohammed described the level of compliance of the curfew and general safety rules as satisfactory.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police John B. Abang, has enjoined the public to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in order to enhance safety and security in the state.
