UI College of Medicine’s provost, deputy test positive for COVID-19

The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Prof Jesse A. Otegbayo, has tested positive for coronavirus. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday morning and personally signed by him.

Similarly, the Provost, University of Ibadan College of Medicine, Prof. Ezekiel Olapade-Olaopa, and deputy provost, Prof. Obafunke Denloye, have tested positive for the dreaded virus.

Olapade-Olaopa disclosed this in a WhatsApp group message Sunday morning, saying: “Dear colleagues, I wish to inform you that the deputy provost and I tested positive for the COVID-19 following the tests done on Friday.

“Although we are both asymptomatic, we have gone into self-isolation for the 14 days while our contacts are being observed closely to determine if they should also be tested.”
