Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has promised to improve the lot of women in the state and to make them proud.

He has also pleaded with them to be fervent in prayers for his administration to ensure that his programmes designed to impact them positively are fully implemented.

The Governor spoke at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Omuma in Orlu, where he used the occasion of the Service to salute all mothers of the Anglican Church on this year’s Mothering Sunday Day.

Uzodinma, who reminded mothers that they have a great role to play in shaping family values and a better place to live, encouraged them to seek God’s face always on matters affecting their families, the Church, the government and the society.

He wished the mothers a blissful celebration and prayed God to bless, protect and preserve our mothers and all women.

At the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Governor Uzodimma reiterated that his administration will take seriously, matters affecting women as he has already started demonstrating in the appointment he has so far made.

He stated: “I will not disappoint your expectations. It is clear that God destined me to serve the state at this point in time. Going by the false propaganda and abuses I received before the elections, it was only your support, prayer and grace of God that made me Governor, I shall make our mothers proud.”

He pleaded with them to be partners in progress with the male folk in the interest of everyone.

He noted that the time for gossips and propaganda are over and called for support in his quest to transform the state.

“Now is time for governance, elections and court matters are over, you have given us your mandate for four year years. It is duty incumbent on us to deliver on our electoral promises without any excuses. We solicit your prayers and support to succeed,” Governor Uzodimma said.
