Buhari Appoints New Post Master General, Others

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved the appointment of Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi as the new Post Master General (PMG) of the Federation.

Dr. Adewusi from the South West replaces Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi also from the South West.

This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina in which he also announced other appointments in the agencies and parastatals under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Adesina said the appointments were in furtherance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s desire of fast-tracking the targets and mandate of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Other appointments include those of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), with Prof. Adeolu Akande (South West) replacing Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye (South West) as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners subject to the confirmation of the Senate while Mr Uche Onwude (South East) replaces Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Ararume (South East) as Non-Executive Commissioner. The appointment is also subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

Similarly, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has Dr Abubakar Sa’id replacing Prof. Adeolu Akande as Board Chairman while Dr Habibu Ahmed Imam (North West) replaces Dr Lawal Bello Moriki (North West) just as Alhaji Mohammed Sa’idu Kumo (North East) has been appointed as a Board Member

In the same vein, the Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB), has Professor Muhammed Bello Abubakar taking over from Architect Yusuf Kazaure

The President also approved new appointments into the Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) where Architect Yusuf Kazaure formerly of Galaxy Backbone Limited is replacing Chief Dr George Nnadubem Moghalu as Board Chairman while Dr Najeem Salam replaces Hon. Samson Osagie as Executive Director, Marketing and Business Development just as Professor Abdu Ja’afaru Bambale replaces Kazeem Kolawole Raji as Executive Director, Technical Services.

Also appointed is Hadi Mohammed to replace Mohammed Lema Abubakar as Executive Director, Administration
