33-year-old bags death sentence in Osun for murder

A 33 year old man identified as Mutiu Rasak is to die by hanging for killing Kehinde Adesina as an Osun High Court presided over by Justice kudirat Akano found him guilty of comitting murder.
The convict was arraigned in Court on 31st of January, 2018 on eight count charge of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, assault, engaging in secret cult and others which are contrary to the law.
The Prosecuting Counsel from the Ministry of Justice Barrister Wuraola ogunfolabi, told the Court that the covinct committed the crime on 18th, November, 2015 at about 8:00 in the night at Abaku Area of Osogbo.
The convict who was said to be a cult member stormed the area with some gang and attacked some people in the area.
The convict was said to have shot at Kehinde Adesina and Wale Makinde and while Kehinde Adesina died as a result of the gunshot, Wale Makinde finger was cut with axe.
Barrister Wuraola in the course of the trial called three witnesses and tendered five exhibits before the Court which included medical report given at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo.
In the, judgement Justice kudirat Akano discharged the convict on three counts charges out of eight counts charges preferred against him and convict him on five counts.
Justice Akano said the prosecutor proved his case beyond reasonable doubt in other five counts and so sentenced Mutiu Rasaq to seven years over conspiracy, and death over murder.
