OAU loses yet another lecturer

Barely forty eight hours after the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile-Ife lost a Professor of Paediatrics, Professor Jerome Elusiyan, the institution yesterday lost another promising lecturer, Dr. Victoria Oluwaremilekun Adeniyi, the Acting Head, Department of Dramatic Arts of the institution.
It would be recalled that Professor Jerome Elusiyan was lost to the cold hands of death through the instrumentality of unknown gunmen in Edo State on Friday.
A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that the deceased lecturer directed this year’s Convocation play which was staged four days ago and was also a part of the academic procession of the grand finale of the University’s 44th Convocation on Saturday.
According to Olanrewaju, Dr. Victoria Oluwaremilekun Adeniyi whose cause of death was not disclosed was until her death early yesterday morning was the Acting Head, Department of Dramatic Arts of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife.
“The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, who was visibly unhappy, had visited the University’s Teaching Hospital and directed that necessary papers be filled for the conduct of a post mortem”.
