2 policemen killed, 7 others kidnapped as gunmen strike in Mubi

There is palpable tension in Mubi South Local Government area of Adamawa as activities of gunmen believed to be kidnappers is affecting the fragile peace returning to Boko Haram ravaged town as activities of this criminal elements in the commercial nerve of the state have left behind the scary tale of two dead policemen and seven other kidnapped  on Saturday as reported by the Head of Transition Administration, Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa, Alhaji Ahmadu Dahiru.
Dahiru said said the the residents of the community now live in fear as they are being kidnapped even in broad day light unchallenged.
He said: “Kidnappers have terrorised our communities on a daily basis and they kidnap people at will in broad day and night.
“They killed two policemen last Tuesday who were on patrol along Mubi–Gyela Road.
“As I’m talking to you, three days ago they abducted five people in Kwaja and two in Sauda village.”
Dahiru added that the kidnappers were hiding on top of some hills along the Nigeria – Cameroon border stressing that the communities had lost millions of naira to insecurity as they are made to part with ransom to reunite with their loved ones.
The spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, saying a team of security operatives had been deployed to comb the area.
He appealed to the people of the state to report any suspicious and strange character to the nearest security outpost.
